Le Bernardin
This is an archive post from a previous version of my blog. Le Bernardin is a NYC restaurant institution and holds a 3-star Michelin rating. This beautiful restaurants is known for its emphasis on seafood and offers two different tasting menus each night. This is the tasting menu I had on March 2, 2013:
Tuna - Thinly pounded yellowfin tuna, foie gras, toasted baguette, chives, extra virgin olive oil
Langoustine - Sautéed langoustine, truffle, chanterelle, aged balsamic
Octopus - Charred octopus "a la plancha", green olive, black garlic emulsion, sundried tomato vierge
Salmon - Barely cooked wild samon, black truffle pot-au-feu
Lobster - Baked lobster "goulash", light potato gnocchi, braised pearl onions
Striped Bass - Wild striped bass, Bhutanese red rice, green papaya salad, ginger-red wine sauce
Coconut Pineapple - Coconut "espuma", pineapple sorbet, cilantro
Chocolate Popcorn - Madagascan chocolate ganache, candied peanuts, popcorn ice cream
